Book club voting that's easy for everyone
Let every member nominate a book, read what each one is about, and vote on the next read. The book with the most votes wins. It's free, there are no ads, and it works in any web browser.
How book club voting works
- The organizer opens the month's voteWhen starting the month, the organizer presses "Let everyone vote." The vote appears on the club's home page, "This month."
- Members nominate booksSearch by title or author. Each result shows the cover, the author and a short summary, so you pick the right book. If it isn't found, add it the way you typed it. A vote holds up to 20 books.
- Read before you voteTap any book in the vote to see its cover, what it's about, and where to get it.
- Everyone votesPick a book. You can change your vote until the vote closes, and the results update as people vote.
- The organizer closes the voteThe book with the most votes becomes this month's book. On a tie, the organizer picks. Everyone gets a note: "It's decided."
Why a vote beats a group text
- Everyone gets a say. Quiet members are heard as much as the loudest ones.
- Nothing gets lost. Every nomination stays in one list instead of scrolling away in a chat.
- Nobody has to count. The results add up as people vote.
- Everyone knows what's happening. The bell shows new nominations and votes, rolled into one note so it never piles up.
Tips for a fair book club vote
- Set a closing date. Tell everyone when the vote closes, so people nominate early.
- One or two nominations each. A short list is easier to choose from.
- Mix it up. Include something short, something new and something classic.
- Bring back the runner-up. Nominate last month's close second again next month.
